Ruff Ryder to the Rescue Foundation was established in January 2000 by the Dean Family to assist community based organizations by providing necessary resources to adequately address the educational, health and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities. The vision of the Ruff Ryder to the Rescue Foundation is to foster “a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities.”

It is the belief that the key to success is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we focus on the Triple Play approach – Mind, Body & Soul. Our members volunteer as coaches and mentors, their goal is to ensure that every child has access to athletic opportunities beyond school hours. In addition to providing resources that provide increased sports activities, members also fundraise to provide resources for new equipment and safe and clean fields. Childhood obesity, diabetes and other chronic disease due to a lack of healthy nutritional habits is rampant in our communities. The Ruff Ryder to the Rescue Lifestyle membership includes as cadre of doctors and other health professionals whose mission is to provide adequate resources that will allow easy access to education and dissemination of information regarding healthier food choices, and opportunities for increased physical activities.
